MISSION
The mission of the Defense Technical Information Center is to eliminate sexual assault from our Agency. If a sexual assault does occur, DTIC is committed to providing immediate response, and compassionate victim care and recovery support; an intimidation-free reporting environment inhospitable to retaliation; a timely, professional investigation; and accountability for those who commit this crime.
VISION
A Defense Technical Information Center where all members of our mission ready total workforce - work in a climate of trust, respect, and dignity; where everyone is a leader who takes prompt action to correct concerning behaviors which counter this climate; and will take a stand as active bystanders, and not allow it to occur.
GOALS
A DTIC culture free of sexual assault through an environment of prevention; education, training and outreach; response capability, victim support; reporting procedures; and appropriate accountability that enhances the safety and wellbeing of the workforce.
What is Sexual Assault?
Sexual assault is intentional sexual contact, characterized by the use of force, threat, abuse of authority, or when the victim does not or cannot consent. This includes: rape, nonconsensual sodomy, indecent assault, or any attempts to commit these acts. Sexual assault can occur without regard to gender, spousal relationship, or age of the victim. Sexual assault is a crime punishable under the UCMJ as well as state and federal laws.
