Defense Technical Information Center (DTIC) Evaluation of Survey Results

Employees are a core strength of the agency and have shown dedication and resilience during the extraordinary circumstances of the last year. We are pleased to report our 2020 Federal Employee Viewpoint Survey (FEVS) results.

All permanent civilian employees employed before October 31, 2019 were eligible to participate in the 2020 FEVS conducted September 23-November 4, 2020. During this census 203 surveys were administered and 101 completed resulting in a 49.8% response rate.

Table 1.0 compares DTIC’s overall Employee Engagement and component scores with other DoD Defense Agencies and Field Activities, the Department of Defense, and across federal agencies. DTIC’s engagement scores exceeded those for the Fourth Estate, DoD and federal agencies. Global satisfactions score met those of federal agencies.

The Agency Employee Survey (AES) identified 31 items as strengths with a score of 65% positive or higher, and 0 items as challenges with a score of 35% negative or higher. DTIC employees provided high scores for their supervisors, surpassing supervisor scores for other DoD and government agencies. DTIC’s employee positive engagement score also surpassed government wide overall engagement. DTIC AES results have been trending higher since 2017, with no identified challenges. The greatest positive increase from 2019 to 2020 is reported for the following questions:
